As Principal of Downey Adult School, it is my honor and privilege
to serve our students, staff, and community. I am deeply grateful
for the opportunity to continue the strong tradition of excellence
established by those who have led before me and to serve the
incredible community of Downey and the surrounding areas.
Downey Adult School has long been a place of opportunity, growth,
and transformation for adult learners. We proudly offer a wide variety of programs designed to meet
the diverse needs of our community, including English as a Second Language (ESL), High School
Diploma (HSD), and High School Equivalency (HSE) programs (GED preparation). We specialize
in Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways that prepare students for careers in high-demand
industries including healthcare, legal services, public safety, and skilled professions.
Our Career Technical Education programs consist of Clinical Medical Assistant (MA), Medical
Assistant and Phlebotomy, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Vocational Nursing (LVN), Phlebotomy
Technician, Medical Biller Coder (MBC), Dental Assistant, EKG/ECG, Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT), Massage Therapy, Paralegal, Esthetician, Court Reporting, and Court Reporting Voice Writer.
At the heart of Downey Adult School, all staff maintains a culture of care and has a strong commitment
to serving our community and empowering adult learners. We are proud to provide high-quality,
accessible, and industry-relevant programs that help students gain skills for employment, higher
education, personal enrichment, and meaningful contributions to society. We are responsive to our
community needs and we foster a caring and professional environment. We value strong partnerships
with our community organizations, workforce agencies, and higher education institutions as we
collaborate together to support students in building confidence, overcoming obstacles, and
creating brighter futures for themselves and their families.
It is also a privilege to work alongside our extraordinary team of caring, experienced, and highly
qualified staff members who are dedicated to student success. Together, we are committed to
helping every student reach their educational, career, and personal goals in a welcoming and
supportive environment.

Board of Education, whose commitment allows us to provide high-quality programs and services
for our students and families.
Our classes are offered during day and evening hours throughout the school year to meet the needs
