Home Health Aide

A Home Health Aide provides basic medical and personal care to patients in a home setting. Essential duties and responsibilities include: taking and recording of vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, etc. ), provides guidance to patients in ways to live independently, assist patients with nutrition/eating (including purchasing, preparation, and serving), home maintance such as cleaning, laundry, assists with bathing and grooming, provides medication reminders and assistance with medication, assists with errands and appointments, communicates the patient’s needs to nurses and doctors, and aids the patient in the use of any medical device and equipment required for their specific condition. This program has been approved by the California Department of Public Health and fulfills the necessary requirements to become a Certified Home Health Aide. Requirements: MUST have a High School Diploma or GED at the time of registration; TB clearance, Hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccination record; current flu shot; CPR certification; background/drug screeaning. Student must purchase their own uniforms and supplies. Program cost includes books and classroom supplies *Financial Aid is NOT available for this program. Additional fees: background check fees, Livescan for CDPH paperwork, shoes, and necessary equipment (BP cuff with sphygmomanometer).
