The Home Health Aide – Advance program is for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) who are seeking to acquire their Home Health Aide state certification in order to work with hospice and home health agencies. Students will be instructed in personal care services, nutrition, cleaning and care tasks in the home, changing bed linens, preparing meals, assisting patient in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, and grooming. This program has been approved by the California Department of Public Health and fulfills the necessary requirements to become a Certified Home Health Aide. Requirments: MUST have a High School Diploma or GED at the time of registration; must have a valid, non-expired CNA card; TB clearance, Hepatitis B and COVID-19 immunization record; current flu shot; CPR certification; background/drug screening. Student must purchase their own uniforms and supplies. Program cost includes books and classroom supplies. *Financial Aid is NOT available for this program. Additional fees: background check feeds, Livescan for CDPH paperwork, shoes and necessary equipment (BP cuff with sphygmomanometer).
