What grade do children need to be in to attend the Summer 101 enrichment program?

  • For students who have competed kindergarten through students who are entering 8th grade.

What are the dates of the Summer101 Enrichment Program?

  • Summer 101 runs from June 12th to July 7th (date was extended to cover for the 4th of July holiday).

What are hours of the Summer101 Enrichment Program?

  • Daycare :   7am-9am
    Period 1 :   9:00-10:25
    Break :   10:25-10:35
    Period 2 :   10:35-12:00
    Lunch :   12:00pm-12:30pm

How many days a week will my child attend the Summer101 Enrichment Program?

  • Four days a week, Monday through Thursday. Except the last week which lasts until Friday, July 7th.

How much does Summer 101 cost?

  • Cost is $359.00 per student.

Can I sign up for only one class?

  • No, you are entitled to attend both periods from 9:00am – 12:00pm.

How do I enroll my child in the Enrichment Program?


  • Please use Chrome or Firefox as your browser when registering.

  • Choose the age bracket that fits your child.

  • Click on the name of the course from Period 1.

  • On the page that follows, click ‘ADD‘.

  • Go back to the list of classes that fits your child (click your back browser button twice) .

  • Click on the name of the course from Period 2.

  • On the page that follows, click ‘ADD‘.

  • Proceed to “CHECKOUT” (make sure you have both Period 1 and Period 2 classes in your cart).

  • New users will be asked to create a username, returning users will use their existing information.

  • NOTE: The student name will be your CHILD’S NAME.

  • Once you register your child through our online registration page, you will be asked to pay with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). For additional payment methods, please call 562-940-6200.


  • Fill out the registration form that is found on page 2 of the Summer101

  • Go to Downey Adult School (12340 Woodruff Avenue, Downey, CA).

  • You can register with cash, check, Visa or Mastercard.

Are there refunds?

  • Refunds requested prior to June 12 will be given, less a $50 processing fee.

  • *After June 12, no refunds will be allowed.

Will my child receive credit for attending the Summer101 Program?

  • No, your child will not receive Summer School credit, but Summer 101 provides “Learning and fun under the summer sun”.

 What are the credentials of the Summer101 teachers?

  • All Summer101 teachers are Downey Unified School District teachers that are highly qualified and possess a current teaching credential.

Are the materials provided to the students?

  • All necessary materials and supplies will be provided to the student.

What information will I need to register my child?

  • Your name, address, phone, email, your child’s name and date of birth and payment information, along with the classes that you have chosen. Emergency contact information and any necessary medical information will be needed on the first day of class.

What if the class I want to sign up for is full?

  • When you register in person or over the phone you will list two choices. If your first choice is full, you will be enrolled into your second choice.

Will food or snacks be provided?

  • Lunch will be provided 12:00pm-12:30pm
    Snacks will be sold daily.- Prices range from $.50 to $1.00

Is transportation provided?

  • All children need to be picked up by 12:30pm.
