The online paralegal program is designed to prepare students for a career as a paralegal, legal researcher, or legal assistant. This program provides students with a strong foundation in core areas of the law, legal terminology, and research skills. The student must own a computer or have access to a computer with internet access in order to take this class. Student must attend an ONLINE orientation before registering.

Paralegal Orientation

Orientation is mandatory and will be held ONLINE

Upon registration, the instructor will email you a link to join the orientation at a specified date and time.

The student must have a High School Diploma or GED, must be computer literate, and must be 18 years of age.

The student will be able to do the following: Research legal issues, communicate with attorneys and their clients, writing skills, and a general understanding of the law and the legal system.

Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 17 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations. This occupation attracts many applicants, and competition for jobs will be strong. Experienced, formally trained paralegals with strong computer, and database management skills should have the best job prospects.
