In this class you will learn the art of gelatin making, how to choose the correct ingredients, make the recipes, temperature control, molding, unmolding, coloring and decorating a gelatin. The instructor will provide all supplies and recipes. Bring a container to take your gelatin home. This class is a pre-requisite for the next 2 gelatin classes. Must register by May 9.

In this class you will learn new techniques of placing pictures on the gelatin, how to encapsulate decorations and names all around the gelatin and how to transfer designs by hand and with an edible image too. The instructor will provide recipes. This class is a pre-requisite for the next gelatin class, Floral Gelatin. A sheet of instructions will be given in the office. Must pre-register by February 17th.

Impress family and friends by making beautiful floral gelatins. These delicious treats will be the center of your party! You'll be making different kinds of edible flowers inside a gelatin using everyday tools that are easy to find. All gelatins and recipes will be provided by the teacher. In this class we will cover a whole range of cake decorating techniques, from baking, torting and icing a cake to decorating a beautiful doll cake. You will learn the basics as well as professional tips. This class is a pre-requisite for our next 2 levels.

If you've already taken our first level course, or have some cake decorating experience, this is the class for you. Patty will review roses and progress to daisies, pansies, daffodils, wild roses, violets and other flowers. Go beyond the basics in this class. You'll learn the difference between formulas and functions, and know how to manage worksheets by creating custom views, freezing panes, and inserting hyperlinks. You will also be able to create tables and analyze your table data using filters, subtotals, Look-Up Values, and Data Validation by adding input messages and error alerts. This session will end with automating your worksheet tasks by recording, running and editing Macros.

Learn your way around Excel 2007. In this class you'll become familiar with simple calculations, formulas, functions and editing. You'll also learn formatting features to make your worksheet more attractive and easier to read, and how to work more efficiently by letting Excel do the work for you!

Do you want to be able to plan your own house or apartment remodel? Using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), you will produce drawings that can be used to build anything from furniture to machine parts to houses. You don't need special math skills or technical experience to take this course. CADD is the modern version of manual drafting (using pen and T-square) and it will open many opportunities for you in interior design, industrial design, engineering, manufacturing, architecture, and many more fields. This class will be held on the Downey High School campus.

To prepare for this career-defining exam, you will be provided with strategies and tools to give you test taking confidence, including teh essential information you must know, effective memorization tricks, where to find practice tests, and what you should do during the first 5 minutes of the exam. Each student will be provided with a study guide based upon the in-class instruction materials. In addition to preparing for the exam, you will also learn how to navigate the complicated process of registering for the exam, what reference materials to buy, and how to save green in the process.

California needs additional professional notaries. The course is designed to provide students the knowledge to become a proficient Calidfornia notary public and prepare for the state's examination. In addition, this course will satisfy the California state's mandatory education requirement of reviewing notary public laws and practices for current notary public professionals seeking reappointment. Become a more valuable employee or own your own business. California State Proctors will administer the Notary Examination at the end of the class.

You will learn to use the mashine and learn various techniques to achieve various looks, from beauty to fantasy. Airbrushing is a fantastic tool to add to your makeup skills. This is an airbrush course for professionals in the makeup industry. It is highly recommended to bring your own compressor and gun. If you have an interest in purchasing your own, a list of compressors and guns that are recommended will be available. Pre-requisite: must have graduated from the day academy and / or advance night course. If not, must be working in the industry for a minimum of 6 months (must show proof).

The American Heart Association now offers Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers. This class is designed for all participants who provide health care to patients in a broad diversity of medical settings; as well as, persons operating a childcare facility, persons applying for childcare licenses, and all public school personnel. At the end of the BLS for Health Care Providers course students are eligible to receive a BLS card for Adult, Child and Infant issued by the American Heart Association. Card is mailed in approximately six - eight weeks after completion of class.

Enhance your potential in the nursing field. This is a California BVNPT approved certification course for licensed vocational nurse's who desire to perform blood withdrawal and start an IV therapy within the scope of their practice. This 6-day course will provide the students with theory and clinincal practice. Upon completion, the student will be able to receive certifcation for both IV therapy and blood withdrawal.

This twelve month program will offer students both theory and practical hands on training necessary to become a Vocational Nurse. Upon completion, the student will be eligible to take the state licensure examination with the Board of Vocational Nursing (NCLEX-PN).
